THE GDC PROCESS

Taking your ideas to create a space that is more than you imagined.

PRE-DESIGN

Your project is our project and we will be there with you every step of the way. Our first meeting is obligation free and will give us an idea of what you want, your intent and end result, your absolute must haves and have nots. Usually this happens on site (if existing). We will get a good understanding of the space and look at things like ventilation, power and access to plumbing and drainage. We will then provide a fee proposal to outline our services and costs.

CONCEPT DESIGN

Now that we have an understanding of your project we will put together a concept design package.  This will include precedent images, lighting, finishes, materials and furniture.  To give you a real understanding of how it will look we will provide 3D rendered images.

DEVELOPED DESIGN

At this stage we take the concept design and develop it further. We walk through the space to finalise the layout and all the key features. Adding the GDC magic along the way!

DETAILED DESIGN

We assist with the engagement of consultants and engineers and liaise with them to get all the documentation required to undertake the proposed design works. Documentation will then be submitted to relevant local authorities for a building consent, if required. We will review shop drawings issued by external consultants and put together a furniture, fixtures and equipment schedule (FF&E) listing all the items that need to be ordered and delivered on site.

CONSTRUCTION & ONSITE ATTENDANCE

Drawings will be updated with feedback from local authorities and will then be passed on the fitout team for construction. We will be present on site to oversee the construction process and to ensure the design intent is followed throughout the build. We will also complete a defects inspection to ensure everything has been finished to perfection. The last thing we do is ensure that you, our client, walks away with a space you love!
