Competenz wanted to enhance the functionality of their office space.  They eliminated some seating and wanted to increase the number of meeting rooms and break-out spaces and improve lighting conditions. The aim was to create an environment that was both professional and fun and encouraged staff to feel motivated and enthusiastic about coming to work after weeks of working from home during the global pandemic.

The Good Design Company met the brief by:

• Evaluating the current layout and space allocation to identify areas that could be repurposed or redesigned to create additional meeting rooms and break-out spaces.

• Provided versatile and flexible spaces that could accommodate various team sizes and meeting formats.

• Ensured privacy, acoustic insulation, and suitable amenities in each meeting room and break-out area.

• Addressed the existing lighting issues by analysing the current setup and identifying areas that required improvement.

• Designed the layout so desks were near the windows and the meeting spaces were in the middle of the space to make the most of the natural light.

• Incorporated energy-efficient lighting options that aligned with their sustainability goals.

• Developed a design concept that combined professionalism with a sense of playfulness and fun.

• Utilised the vibrant colours of the Competenz brand into the design to foster a sense of identity and pride among employees.

• Included unique elements like built in booth seats to add visual interest and create an engaging atmosphere.

• Ensured Biophilic design was included in the design to create an environment that fosters a connection with nature, improve well-being, and enhance productivity.
